Trip to the market (Joshenka)

This technically wasn’t an excursion planned by our professor, but a few of us went to the market over the weekend by Udelnaya metro station. What I found so interesting about it was that it reminded me heavily of the flee markets that I used to go to with my father when I was much younger. The market was a sort of spectrum, with actual stores towards the front by the street eventually evolving into garage-like buildings going back, which eventually evolved into the bare minimum to have a roof over these merchants’ heads and a table for their wares. The merchandise was pretty diverse, ranging from clothes to tools to historic pins to miscellaneous items like instruments, postcards, and jewelry. I bought this little collection of pictures of points of interest in Saint Petersburg from 1971, and the package says Ленинград.
